Vanton SUMP-GARD® Vertical Centrifugal Pumps

SUMP-GARD®

Vertical Centrifugal Pumps Overview

SUMP-GARD® vertical centrifugal pumps are available in lengths from 12 in. to 20 ft (.3 m to 6.1 m), and handle flows to 900 gpm (204 m3/hr), heads to 180 ft. (55 m) and temperatures to 275°F (135°C).

All fluid contact components are injection molded or fabricated of homogeneous polypropylene (PP), polyvinyl chloride (PVC), chlorinated polyvinyl chloride (CPVC) and polyvinylidene fluoride (PVDF) — corrosion resistant thermoplastics that are chemically inert to the fluids they are specified to handle. The heavy-duty stainless steel shaft is completely isolated from the fluid by a thick-sectioned thermoplastic sleeve, eliminating metal contact with the pumped fluid.

Unlike metals (including stainless steel, Hastelloy® and other high alloys) that have annual corrosion rates, Vanton

thermoplastics do not, allowing all liquids to be handled free of contamination, while maintaining the integrity of ultrapure liquids.

SUMP-GARD® vertical pumps are ideal for handling a broad range of corrosive, hazardous, toxic and otherwise aggressive fluids used throughout the processing and manufacturing industries, in utilities, and industrial and municipal water/wastewater treatment facilities — virtually any acidic, caustic, hazardous or unknown mixtures of waste/effluent or combination of fluids across the entire pH spectrum collected in tanks and sump pits.

Every Vanton pump is fully tested to verify performance with all data permanently recorded.

MATERIALS OF CONSTRUCTION

No metal is ever in contact with the fluids being pumped. The wetted end of the stainless steel shaft is sleeved in thick sectioned thermoplastic material. The homogeneous structure of Vanton thermoplastics minimizes the possibili1y of chemical absorption and eliminates the danger of bleeding or wicking commonly associated with fiberglass reinforced thermoset pumps. Heavy sectioned independent molded components avoid porosi1y and separation problems that tend to occur with lined pumps. With proper flushing, these thermoplastic pumps can be used for any other compatible service without fear of contamination.

APPLICATIONS

Vanton thermoplastic pumps are ideal for handling the broad range of corrosive, hazardous, toxic and other aggressive fluids used throughout the processing and manufacturing industries, in utilities, and in industrial and municipal water/wastewater treatment facilities. These fluids include: chemicals, biochemicals and pharmaceuticals, foods, mining slurries, pure water for semiconductor wafer  fabrication, electroplating formulas, pickling liquors, paper/pulp bleaches, industrial and municipal noxious odors, sea water in fisheries and aquariums, and an endless list of product recovery/reuse as well as OEM applications.
